World Hand Wash Day – Activity Report

The Community Development Foundation (CDF) Pakistan has always been committed to promoting education, health, and community development.
Beyond academic learning, CDF focuses on fostering positive behavioral change and building awareness about healthy living practices among children and parents.
In connection with the World Hand Wash Day, observed globally on October 15, 2025, CDF Pakistan organized awareness activities in collaboration with FANSA
The events took place in various CDF-managed schools across District Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah) and District Umerkot.
The key objective of these programs was to raise awareness among students, teachers, and parents about the importance of hand hygiene, cleanliness, and disease prevention.
Main Event – CDF Schooling System, Hussainabad Sakrand
The main and largest event was held at the CDF Schooling System, Hussainabad Sakrand, where teachers, parents, and community members actively participated.
During the event, practical demonstrations were conducted to teach proper handwashing techniques and to explain how clean hands can prevent common infections such as colds, flu, diarrhea, and other communicable diseases.
Participants were encouraged to adopt regular handwashing as a daily habit and to promote the same within their families and communities.
Guest of Honor and Closing Remarks
Mr. Abdul Hameed Arain, Chairman of CDF Pakistan, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor.
In his address, he emphasized: > “Clean hands symbolize a healthy life. If we teach our children the importance of hygiene at an early age, they will grow into responsible citizens of a healthier society.”
At the conclusion of the program, educational gifts and appreciation tokens were distributed among students to motivate them to maintain good hygiene practices.
